RateHarp has no public user accounts
RateHarp is an information site: live rates, a directory of Canadian mortgage, real-estate and legal
professionals, articles and podcasts. There is no sign-up and no visitor login, so
there is no account to close. What we may hold is the information you sent us through a form
on this site. You can have all of it erased, free, at any time.
How to request erasure
Email us from the address you used on the form:

Subject: RateHarp data deletion request
Tell us the name, email address and (if you have it) phone number you submitted, so we can find your record.
We verify the request comes from the email address on the submission, then erase the data and confirm
in writing. Requests are actioned within 30 days, and normally within a few business days.
What we delete
- Quote requests — the name, email, phone, city/province, timeline and message
you submitted through Get a quote, plus the IP address recorded with it.
- Leads and enquiries — any contact details, message and source captured when
you asked to be contacted, including the IP address and browser user-agent stored with it.
- Referrals to professionals — the record linking your request to the
professional(s) it was sent to.
- Listing claims — if you claimed a directory listing: your name, email,
verification token and any proof document you uploaded.
- Push notification subscriptions — if you allowed browser notifications, the
subscription record for your browser (you can also just block notifications in your browser).
Note: once a quote request has been forwarded to a professional, that professional holds their own copy
of your enquiry. We will erase our copy and tell you who we sent it to, so you can ask them to erase
theirs. We cannot delete data held in their systems.
What we keep, and why
- Anonymous analytics — aggregate page-view and article-click counts that are
not linked to your identity.
- Backups — erased data may persist in encrypted rolling backups for up to
30 days, after which those backups expire.
- Directory listing information about a professional is business information, not
personal data of a site visitor. If you are a listed professional and want your listing removed,
email the same address and say so.
